Space Technology 8 (ST-8) was a NASA New Millennium Program (NMP) mission to test a variety of new spacecraft technologies in Earth orbit. SAILMAST would have tested on-orbit deployment of an ultra-lightweight 40-m boom to support solar sails and other gossamer spacecraft. ST-8 was canceled with the New Millennium Program.
